Peanut is under the weather:(

Well it's official Nut-nut is sick... Pat took him to the vet today while I was working( it was a crazy day at work too!) and had to leave him there for the majority of the day so they could see him. After some tests and procedure he apparently has a horrible allergic reaction and conjunctivitis in both eyes ...poor little guy he is on a steroid, a antibiotic, and eye drops. after the first round of treatment he looks a little better he is just really tired! The good news is that the vet says he can still come home with us and he will not infect other dogs or people. he will probably be wearing his cone at home though too. thanks all for now g/g take care of him. much love!

hockey and hanging

Hi
WOW has it been hot! 90 degrees and humid! I know everyone back east is dying for the rain to end hopefully we bring some of this nice weather with us when we go home! Pat and I are struggling to get ourselves on a normal sleeping schedule I have been bouncing around at work and have been working some nights so we are all messed up! Hopefully its figured out soon! Pats playing hockey tonight in town, we met up with some friends in town earlier for a few drinks and some catching up, good times. Patrick has a new phone now with text messaging( I started to text him so he would realize I was in the same room as him the other night) he loves it! It's some type of Verizon touch screen with a flip open keyboard, boy and electronics I will never understand. I misplaced my phone again...I hear a friends of mine might have it though so that's good! Everything electronic repels itself from me! We are literally counting down the days till we get to go home, both of us are excited to see family and be on vacation. Patrick got a job offer for the summer today oddly enough it is at Lawrence, we will have to see what he decides to do with it, I'll keep you posted. Another odd this I have realized about this man of mine... he is horrible at sending letters out on time. He bought his father a fathers day card 2-3 week before fathers day, I placed a stamp on it the day he bought it and it was still sitting on the table on father's day. I put stamps on thank you cards for him so he could send out thank you cards for his birthday gifts and they are still sitting on the table too?!?! MEN! haha thats all for now! Peanut still has the cone on for his eye infection but it looks like its clearing up! talk to you about more exciting things soon!

Volunteering

Hi again!
Well the weather has been GREAT!  And we are just hanging around enjoying it. We are buying our seasons passes to the state parks, having picnics, drinking wine, reading books, and so on! The new thing is volunteering, we went to a meeting at the local animal shelter in town and are now signed up for volunteer work for the shelter which we are very excited about! We signed up for many different aspects of volunteer work for the shelter including: gardening, pickup and drop off of supplies, dog walking, and working at the camps! We both are looking forward to this and are excited to meet new people (pat will be stocking up on benadryl due to his cat allergy so if you don't already have stock in the product now would be a great time to buy, hehe) . We started looking at more outdoor activities in WI and are interested in kayaking, white water rafting, horseback riding and biking or roller blading if you have any good information on any of these activities let us know:)  The harley davidson  weekend is here and it has been killing Patrick( he has been very interested in biking lately to have all these amazing bikes surrounding us whenever we go out ( they say there are thousands of people involved). We went to the parade today and I will try to post a few pics at a later date! Peanut has an eye infection so we put the cone back on him for a few days so we can medicate him and not have him pawing the medicine off, poor guy! Happy Fathers day to my dad (Paul) and to Mr. Brenner as well as all you other fathers out there!

Love and hugs from WI:)

Hanging:)

Hello again,
Thought I would quickly write while I had a little time! Well since Pat's birthday we have just kind of been hanging around saying bye to friends that are going home for the summer:(  Our friends, Jimmy, Tara, Jesse, Aaron, Amanda and  Nick graduated this weekend! YAY for them!!! Some of them are staying around for the summer, even more exciting! Pat's been spending most of his time working out, working at the pot, looking for another job and looking for a new cellphone. I have been working, reading, playing with peanut,  and starting to go on walks with him. We went into old navy and Patrick hit the jackpot, 50% off all men's wear everything in the store( plus he got an extra 10% off for being a student so total 60% off)!!  I bought a few pairs of yoga pants:)  We saw a movie called "New in town" basically my life minus the career part! Very funny and easy to watch I recommend it. I have 6 shifts until we go home!! YAY counting them down! It now looks like I might be in MA for a day or two before heading off to Maine so we will see.  I have been reading a new series of books that I would recommend as well as part of my book club with my sister we are reading, something borrowed, something blue, baby proof and love the one your with:) So far I finished something borrowed and something blue both were easy and entertaining reads! Not much going on besides that! We are looking at getting my license plates and license changed next week so I will officially be a WI resident BOOOOO... oh well! Hope all is well and talk to you all soon!

Birthday:)

Well needless to say Patrick's Birthday was a day to remember! We slept in (yay)  and kinda started the day off slow, but definitely ended with a bang. We ate at the japanese place where they cook in front of you and Patrick got his wonderful cake from Coldstone.  Then we came home let peanut out and went to the Wooden Nickel where Patrick got to drink for free all night long until I cut him off at midnight). I had 2 short captain and cokes followed by a water and I brought my book to the bar to read( I do this all the time and people think its hilarious). Some friends were there which was nice:)  Then on friday we cooked and tried the cake:) Below will be a lot of  different pictures of all the food we made and a few from the B-day. I must give Patrick some credit here, I hear a lot of ladies say that their men are horrible in the kitchen... he isn't all that bad he just needs direction and he likes having me nearby to tell him when the meats are done or if he needs to add more flour to the pizza dough...lol. The food we made was for the next like 4-5 days because I am working and so is Pat so we will be eating at different times...Enjoy the Pics!

How to cook?

One more thing is anyone has any fabulous recipe's  they would like to pass on please post them for me here we need to try some new food! Last week i finally made some great homemade Italian meatballs and homemade sauce via my moms recipe! Anything is appreciated but anything easy to make is even more appreciated!:) I have a small slow cooker too that i would love to be using more?! Thanks in advance!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to Patrick, he just turned the big 2-3!!! WOW
Anyway just figured I would write a little something about his b-day! I will try to post some pictures later of his cake and maybe a scandalous picture of him after he drinks for free all night! We will have to wait and see!  He's getting ready to go say bye to Joey on campus (bye Joey I suck at goodbyes and didn't go with him because I was already crying at the computer). Then I think we will make some homemade pizza crust and make 2 fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil pizzas with a garlic oil white sauce. YUMYUM! I might even try to make stuffed crust to surprise him!  We also are planning on mini golfing which should be interesting considering neither of us has tried that in  years! For dinner Patrick wants to try the local sushi bar and the japanese place that cooks in front of us! YUMYUM Then the yummy cake i bought him and the Wooden nickel for some drinks:) Sounds like a good night right? I must say these are def the times that I am happy I made the move out here...I can't imagine not spending his birthday with him.
How is the weather at home lately? It sucks here I think we might skip summer all together which sucks! It is once again a gray day in Appleton BOOOO... but nice day for reading which I plan to do while Pat's gone. Peanut and I snuggled up on the couch listening to country music and reading a book( my sister Jackie and I are in  a book club and have been slacking, so we need to finish our current book asap!). Well, thats all for now!  I think I should sent this link out in an e-mail so family and friends know I started it! byebye for now

Yum Cake!

Welcome to the first blog...
The idea here is to keep in touch with those not in Appleton WI with us ( I know you wish you were here). Hopefully Patrick takes part in writing now and then, but I will admitted it is unlikely so I might just have to keep u update on his life as well. :)
First:  tomorrow  is Patrick's b-day and he is currently working, for those who don't know he works part time at the melting pot while in school. I work as a RN at Bellin Hospital in the maternity department, which has not been enjoyable recently...I definitely have a black cloud over me! It has been slow at work though so I have had some time off to regroup! For Patrick's b-day I got his tickets to Sugarland and DMB(he already knows this):) and he has a great cake coming his way tomorrow! I hope he likes it! Besides that we really didn't have any plans (I thought that I would be sleeping tomorrow from working tonight )but he does get to drink for free on his birthday at our local bar so I bet we both can guess where I can find him:)
Moving on... we go home in 18 days (who is counting?) and are very much so looking forward to seeing  our families and friends! I will spent the majority  of my time in Maine at our summer house and Pat is planning on spending half the time in Mass and half in Maine with me:)  Neither of us will have a car so if you would like to visit feel free, but don't be offended when we don't drive to visit you.  Please cross your fingers for good weather! We are flying out of milwaukee and into boston and will be arriving in boston on the june 29th and leaving on the july 6th(now you can't say we didn't tell you). Looking forward to seeing everyone and everything that is home please let us know if you will be in the area so we can try to set something up.
Alright to wrap this up for the night  let me just say hi and welcome to anyone who reads and happy birthday to my love:)
